Village Evangelism

Evangelist JEREMIAH OWO WILLIAMS

On the 1st of January 1992, the Lord called and sent me to MABA VILLAGE. At about 7:30am on the said day, I heard a voice said “Take your Bible and go for Rural Evangelism” having understood the Lord was speaking to me. I dressed up with 2 Bibles in my brief case and left to an undisclosed village.

My call to Mission started in 1989 when the Lord (after he had prepared me fully) sent me on a coastal mission to people in the riverine and sea coast of Ondo State. In this, a lot of conversions were made even from orthodox and white garment fellowship. The Gospel message is in higher demand in those areas hence many Missionaries are not ready to endanger their lives as to passing through the hazards of the journey from the upland to the water side. Reaching out to these group of people which is major in my call to mission seem too expensive – mission supporters could afford buying and giving mission vehicle to the Missionaries in the upland but could not give SPEED BOAT with all its accessories and be ready to maintain it for the coastal Missionaries.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
Hence these precious brethren had forshaken their old religion to accept Christ, their kingsmen had also rejected them and denied them of all their rights and benefits – there are four widows within our caring or supports but could not reach out to them effectively and hence most of them are crop farmers and fish farmers they need a lot of supports and encouragements both morally, financially and spiritually. You could pay us a visit to confirm all this informations.
AT MABA MISSION BASE
Some testimonies had been recorded here to glorify God and to prove His faithfulness.

1. Mrs. Falilat about 65 years old when we entered the village (a Muslim and follower of masquerade got converted through our ministry, denounced all her satanic involvement but now Sis. Comfort Adesina though she is a widow and childless but she is doing fine in the Lord emphasizing her total commitment in the Lord daily. She needs to be assisted.

2. Mr. Abdul Lateef Adesina about 60 years old was a Moslem faithful and the secretary to the village council of Chiefs but got converted and now happily serving the Lord with great expectation of the coming of the Lord. He is now Bro. Stephen Adesina – he is a farmer. He needs encouragement

3. Pa Ogugu about 75 years old migrated from Yenegoa in River State and settled in Ebute Maba in the early 40s, – ( Ebute Maba to Maba village is bout 4km apart). He was a fisherman and local gin brewer. He was an idol worshipper. We met him and witnessed Christ to him, he was fully converted all his idols were destroyed and he followed Christ fervently for 11 years before he went joyfully to meet with the Lord. The wife Mrs. Cecelia Ogugu now a widow also walking uprightly in the Lord with us. She is about 58 years. She needs our attention.

4. Pa Aliu Jimoh Gbadamoshi (alias Baba Kojola) about 70 years old when we arrived, the village was the Ladani of the village ancient Mosque and also Ogun Worshiper before we met him in 1992. Having heard our gospel, he surrendered totally to Jesus Christ, followed him in all righteousness. He was the village spokes man before his conversion. His conversion exposed us to a great persecution and led to a serious spiritual attacks which almost claim the life of my wife 5 children and my self. After denouncing his former faith he walked with the Lord fervently for 3 years before he departed joyfully to meet with the Lord. On the day of his demise, he was singing
“Haleluyah mo dupe} (2ce)
Oro mi ti dayo}(2ce)
Oro mi ti dayo mo layo ninu Jesu
i.e Haleluyah I give thanks 2ce

my matter has turned to joy}2ce
my matter has turned to joy
I have joy in the Lord Jesus
The Bible says “ Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my end be like theirs”. (Numbers 23:10B) When the brethren living together with him heard him singing at about 4.00am, they were praising God, (hence he was sick for about a week) they thought all was well until few minutes later they went to check him only to find out that he had slept in the Lord
