The Club was founded by Pastor Martin Ilesanmi
after a specific mandate from the Lord in 1991. It was inaugurated
formally late 1996 in Nigeria.
The Projects
The Streets: One of the Believers’ Club’s first projects in the 90s was to reach out to prostitutes in a known red light district. This later included ministering to drug users as well.
Church in the den: This then led to the ministry establishing a weekly fellowship in one of the notorious joints (drug users’ den) in Lagos, a major city in Nigeria. Here, various pastors from different churches were invited to minister to the drug users.
This led eventually to the successful rehabilitation of some of them.
Forums: Alongside this, we started the different Forums in pursuit of the goal of helping to unite the Body of Christ. These forums quickly became very popular and were well attended by Believers who remained committed members of their local churches.
Today the Forums continue to be a blessing to many in the UK. These are:
The Believers’ Forum: an interactive gathering discussing socio-political issues of the day as they affect believers in Christ.
The Family Forum: A fun interactive programme designed to tackle ticklish issues amongst married couples in an atmosphere of fun whilst providing some hard-hitting truths
The Singles’ Forum: looking at the Christian lifestyle from the un-married Single’s point of view.
